Anacostia Tributary Trail System. The trail system consists of paved Trail and light traffic roads. Sites along the Anacostia Tributary Trail System include The College Park Airport, College Park Aviation Museum, Lake Artemesia, Adelphi Mill, College Park Community Center, and the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant.

Baltimore & Annapolis Trail (B&A Trail). Trail begins in Glen Burnie, Maryland, on Dorsey Road. Parking is available. The trail has about an 8-foot wide paved surface and is in good condition. The total length is 13 miles between Annapolis and Glen Burnie, MD. Once you reach the northern terminus, a short connector path will take you over to the recently completed BWI Trail.

Captial Crescent Trail (CCT), The Capital Crescent Trail is a shared-use trail from Georgetown
to Silver Spring, MD suitable for walkers, joggers, bikers, and rollerbladers. The Trail is complete for approx. seven miles from Georgetown to Bethesda. This section features a 10-foot wide asphalt path.

Colvin Run Trail, Reston, VA.  Four mile out and back singletrack for mountain bike riding. The trail can also be done as a ten-mile loop with a few miles along the W&OD trail.

Fountainhead Regional Park, Fairfax, VA. The trail is a five-mile singletrack loop for mountain bike riding.

Gwynns Falls Trail Baltimore, Maryland. South of the Inner Harbor. The Gwynns Falls Trail is a unique urban hiking and biking trail providing access to a scenic and historic greenway stream valley in Baltimore City.

Loch Raven Reservoir, Towson, Md.. Six miles of doubletrack network for mountain bike riding.

Mount Vernon Trail. The Mount Vernon Trail takes bicyclists from Roosevelt Island near Key Bridge to George Washington's home in Mount Vernon, Va. Terrain is level with three hills. Narrow in some places. 18.5 miles in length.

North Central Railroad Trail (NCRR Trail). Level, smooth crushed stone surface in Maryland and a hard surface, suitable for all kinds of bicycles in Pennsylvania. Length is 29 miles. Trail begins at the parking lot on Ashland Road in Ashland, Md. The NCRR is a “Hiker/Biker/Horse” trail built on the bed of original ”North Central Railroad”. It runs through the valley of the Gunpowder Falls Watershed, portions of which are now State Park. The southern twenty miles are in Northern Baltimore County and run to the Pennsylvania line.

Patapsco Valley State Park, Ellicott City, Md. Twenty miles of singletrack network for mountain bike riding. Rocks, roots, switchbacks. All types of terrains. 

Patuxent Wildlife Refuge. Off of Route 198 in Laurel. The entrance is 1.4 miles from the Baltimore Washington Parkway. Trails for; hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding. Must check in at the visitor station.

Potomac Heritage Trail. The Potomac Heritage Trail Association is a membership-based organization dedicated to the development, construction, preservation, and interpretation of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail.

Rock Creek Park, Washington D.C. Rock Creek Trail is 25 miles from the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. to Lake Needwood Park in Montgomery County, Md. Level terrain with minor hills. 6-8 feet wide asphalt trail, some roadway. Trail begins at Rock Creek Trail at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue NW ramp and Rock Creek Parkway near Georgetown in Washington, D.C.

Rocky Gorge Reservoir, Laurel, Md. Mountain bike trail. Two mile singletrack network of trails. This trail is good for beginners looking to develop their technical skills while not focusing on their fitness levels with hard climbs and declines.

Seneca Creek State Park Trail, Germantown, Md. Seven miles of singletrack network for mountain bike riding. The trails consist of roots, short steep climbs and a few moderately steep down hills.

Washington, Baltimore, & Annapolis Trail (WB&A Trail).  Paved trail. The 5.6-mile trail from Route 450 in Glenn Dale, running northeasterly to the Patuxent River, includes five bridge crossings, two tunnel crossings, and two at-grade intersections. The trail runs from Glenn Dale through Bowie,

Washington & Old Dominion Trail (W&OD Trail), 45 miles of paved trail for walking, running, bicycling and skating and 32 miles of adjacent gravel trail for horseback riding. Built on the roadbed of the former Washington & Old Dominion Railroad, the multi-use W&OD Trail runs through the urban heartland and countryside of Northern Virginia.
