A few changes have taken place at the Riverdale bike shop. Additional racks have been installed to increase the selection of bicycles available. The service area has been expanded to allow for quicker service work order processing and to allow for the quick jobs to be done even quicker. Now meet some of the faces behind the counter.

Riverdale Cycling & Fitness was established in 1952 by Mr. Andrew Ross. The store moved to it’s present location in 1959. In 1990 the store was purchased by Roger Sawtelle and became part of the Chevy Chase Bicycle Service Company. We are a family oriented store, going by the philosophy that there is no such thing as a dumb question. If you are just looking for a bike to ride on weekends with the kids then that is the bike we will sell you. We want you to be happy with your purchase. However, if you are looking for that two thousand dollar racing machine we can accommodate those desires as well. We like to think that our service department is among the best in the area with prices to compete with anyone. Even if your bike is getting on in years, not to worry, we can probably fix what ever ails it. Unlike most shops these days, we can and do fix old three speeds and coaster brakes. If we cannot fix it chances are that it can not be fixed. Our staff has more than thirty years of combined knowledge about bicycles. From rod brake Raleigh three speeds to Schwinn Sting Ray Krates right on up to the latest full suspension racing machines. We also have an extensive stock of BMX and Freestyle bikes. More than most any other shop in the area. Not just the bikes either. We also have a good selection of parts and accessories as well. If we do not have it in stock chances are that we can get it. Usually within a week. The brands that we carry are: Raleigh, Specialized, Giant, Diamondback, and Haro. So as you can see, no matter what kind of bike you are looking for chances are that we have it. So please give us a try, wont you? Thank you for visiting our site. We hope to see you in the store, even if you just want to talk bikes!
